Why Republicans will lose the election.

Posted in Campain news, Republicans on July 31st, 2008

I know, the easy out is George Bush. Right?

Not so fast my left leaning friends, and please give the “Bush-Bot thier blood pressure medication. The biggest reason for the Republican loss is that they have been fighting too many battles and trying to put out too many fires all the while trying to construct the demise of the Clintons. If you’ll indulge me  I’ll list a few of the battles they could’ve done with out.

1. Same sex marriage.

Can someone please explain to me how one gay person leaving thier death bennifits to another effects me? This is the tweenty first century and we’re still having a debate over the gender of a “Tax paying American’s” sweetheart. The simple solution would be for our government to re write the discrimination laws so that a American can designate who ever they wish as thier beneficiary,in other words It’s my money,I worked hard for it so I decide who gets it after I’m gone, clause.

2. Valerie Plame.

Once again a case of political influence run amock.Which is it Republicans? She either was or wasn’t a colvert agent? Half of you say she was the other says she wasn’t (sheesh and you folks talk about flip-flopping). The honorable thing would have been for those involved to fall on thier swords for the President ala Col. Oliver North. But that would have required sacrifice and so far it doesn’t look like anyone in Washington is prepared to do that. What was the result of this? Let’s see first there is the loss of a valuable intelegence contact in Nigeria,Loss of a CIA Agent (given the shere crappiness of our pre-war intell you would have thought the President would have lost his mind over this or at the very least his Dad (a former CIA director). the biggest loss of all was the little bit of respect from those in our intellegence agencies that found out that they were not beyond becoming political pawns. What did they gain? A reputation as a Bully.

3. Immigration reform.

Anyone with a logical train of thought can see what the problem is it’s the governments from which the illigals come from and the visa allocations from the legal ones. Building a  fence along the Mexican boarder isn’t the answer, sorry. These folks cross deserts to get here and you think a chain link fence with razor wire is gonna stop them, please. Also don’t give me the crap about securing our boarders from terrorist if you were that concerned then construct one accross the Canadian boarder, because it’s established fact that the idiots responsable for 9/11 came in through there.

Now for the fires, there aren’t that many so here goes in no particular order Donald Rumsfield,Enron,Rove,FEMA actually the list is longer I’m just getting a headache thinking of them.

Finally, living in the past. I’m sick of hearing “Bill” did it or you let “Bill” get away with it.You guys sound like a broken record. You’ve had the helm of the greatest country on this earth for going on eight years and the best you can do is “Bill” did it. Find a time machine and join the rest of us in the twenty-first century ok.

Ultimately the reason behind the change of power from Republican rule to Democratic domination doesn’t just boil down to George Bush or the war in Iraq,as I said that would be way too easy. It took a collection of people to drop the ball to bring this shift in power. When one looks at all the blunders that should have never have happened, all the missed opportunities and the out right mis-representation of facts and cover ups. It simply has made the republican party look out of time, out of touch and in some instances down right stupid. And I feel safe in saying I think Americans have had enough of stupid.
